The old static design of the site just isn’t cutting it anymore so I think I’m going to completely redesign the site myself using CakePHP to make the most enjoyable shopping experience humanly possible for all of you Archmaille Designs or sterling silver jewelry customers out there!В More information, more choices, easier to navigate, and easier to find in the searches.
And the weekend aproaches!В I’m so eager to get back to the St. Louis Ren. Faire too!В As I stated in the last entry I won’t be running my handmade jewelry booth out there this year, but I will most definitely be there. I would like to be running my jewelry booth, but it’s just not possible right now unfortunately.В For next year I should (fingers crossed) be running the Young Artisan’s Guild where I may have my handmade jewelry booth, or if not at least be out there running it.В If not a booth in the young artisan’s guild I will try to get more stuff made up so I can put up my own booth and have someone run that while I keep the young artisan’s section running.В It shouldn’t be a problem for me to have a booth within the young artisan’s section since they’re kind of wondering how they’re going to get some other young people out there anyways at this point… I have a few ideas, but if you guys got anything please drop me a line!
Haha, so I’ve been out at the St. Louis Ren. Faire last weekend, and several weekends to come, just to be out there because I love the people more than anything.В Well, last weekend I was talking to someone I met out there last year who was with a friend of hers.В We started talking about why I wasn’t running my chainmail jewelry booth this year, which has much to do with the neglect I’ve offered Archmaille Designs in the past few months thanks to working for MTV.В She was like “Oh my goodness I’m so sorry!” when I said I hadn’t touched my chainmail jewelry stuff in a matter of months… I kind of brushed it off a little bit thinking it was okay… but now, when I got back into the real world I find it terribly difficult to focus on any of my projects online!В I only wish I could do chainmail work full time!В Or anything that keeps me in the Ren. Faire world more often.

I held off for a long time, but the revenue just isn’t coming in from Archmaille Designs so I had to put ads up. They’ll also be put here on the blog shortly, which I’ll no doubt post about when I get that done as well. I can’t sit around and make absolutely nothing from a site for so long. With all my other sites I’ve never lost money from having websites up, however, this one has not been paying for itself, and it needs to. I get 1,500 unique visits a month here which makes it the most active of my websites, and with 6,000 page views a month it should be doing better than what it is… unfortunately it is not so I must get it to making the kind of money that it should of been making all along.

I’m just dropping in to say hello and happy holidays! I’ve been working fervently this season to get the best products available to my customers! It’s been a hard fight, and one that I fear I’ll have to mostly pick up for next year, but it has also been pretty good. I’ve been working on promoting the website, and it has been a particularly tough battle with ranks in Google! But we’re making our way 
I am marking today 11/17/2007 as the day that I finally set out to begin my journey as a blacksmith. I will still keep the jewelry business alive, but will also be running a company beside it mostly for sword sales. Being that I don’t actually have any of the things needed to make swords and knives it will take a little while before I actually use the site, however I am opening a subdomain to officially house my sword, knife, armor, and various other blacksmithing items as a place holder.
